This is what I’m working on today:

Yes…
that is an ironing pile.
Some of you old timers may remember when I was an ironing fanatic.
I’m not anymore.
{there are a few of my husband’s church shirts in there}
{you may recall that he’s been in the sandy spot since March}
The words “toddlers” and “deployment” come to mind.
What are you working on this week?

Getting the youngest ready to go back to college, although really she has done all the work. Which is as it should be I think.

Girl, ironing is done on an “as needed” basis around here. (And you know what? Turns out it’s almost never needed. ha!) But really, isn’t it easier to iron one shirt when you want to wear it than to iron a pile like that?
I’m working on a pile of adoption paperwork. :-)

I’d much rather be doing what you’re doing. ;)

We only iron if it really must be done! I hate ironing with a passion.
Today I’m working on playing with the kids and finishing up a set of name bean bags!
[Reply]
Wow, that’s quite the pile! (I love the look of your iron) ;)
Hope you were able to make some progress.
I’m working on just whatever needs working on to finish up our house; just a little repair here and there and some new things that need finishing. IT’s all coming together!
Also working on helping 2 ladies with their upcoming yard sales and of course our regular house cleaning jobs and a new job on Friday!

We used to iron every Saturday for church clothes…but since we are currently attending any church…not too much has been done! =)
Life is blissfully busy for me right now, a good thing. With work and helping others!

exercise. healthy-eating. Trying to get back in a rhythm of healthy living since I’ve totally let that go for our family since… oh… getting married :)

I think that’s the story of my life. Every time I think I got my rhythm back, something comes along to whack it outta place. Ah, life!
[Reply]
hee hee I never iron unless I absolutely have to. My brother irons his jeans and t-shirts. How’s that for ironic?
Let’s see, this week. House work, and helping a friend move.

Does he really? He doesn’t strike me as that kind of guy. Ha!

I, like everyone else, iron as needed. With my husband currently unemployed — it’s rarely needed right now. Don’t miss it, either!
Currently working on getting myself into a housecleaning routine as the kids will be getting into school routine next week. Today I have been tackling some long-neglected baseboards, myself, complete with rag and toothbrush. Ew. I keep telling myself it won’t be this bad every week.

You’re industrious. Toothbrush???

One definite perk of a firefighter husband…NO IRONING!!! (He irons his own church shirts and I…don’t iron anything).
I’ve got a pile of work projects this week, though…lots of reading and thinking.

Aww … ! I’m smiling … in a NICE way! :) Ironing is … ironing. Not really a fun chore.
Once upon a time, I loved ironing too. I ironed pillowcases when I had to stand on a chair to read the top of the ironing board and the iron was almost as big as ME. And I really LOVED it – it wasn’t child-labour, it was a real “grown up” job. Then I sort of grew up. And now … ? Life is so busy and full of things OTHER than ironing! Maybe when I have an ironing board, an iron and pile of shirts belonging to a guy of my own I’ll like ironing again … I sort of hope so anyway! Happy ironing … :)

I started ironing when it was still fun… I ironed my brother’s little church pants. :)

Aww … that’s so cute!
By the way, I’m glad you “continue the conversations” in your comments now – it’s a lot of fun! :)

I iron my pillowcases and I am unashamed. No matter how quickly I take my sheets out of the dryer, they’re still wrinkly. But, they remain hidden; the pillowcases, however, need a little iron love.

But after ONE night? They’re wrinkled. Seriously. :)

Hi:) I found your blog via a roundabout and random clicking of links … someone blogged about your Germany posts and I read them and really enjoyed your amazing story. I have loved reading the posts on your Highlights page too, and just wanted to tell you so!

Thank you so much! Finding new buddies via random clicks is the best way, in my opinion. Hopping over to visit you right now. :)

Ironing is not my friend but I find myself doing it often during the school year…
What am I doing? Lesson plans, getting classrooms ready, working on papers and more lesson plans.

Ironing…after putting in many, many hours of weekly ironing church clothes for my many siblings and I, I’ve come to dislike ironing. Still, I do look forward to one day ironing my man’s clothes… :-)
I’m currently working on words for my blog – book reviews and blog posts – and a huge pile of accounting work that’s piled up in the office. I rather like the words part better than the accounting!

My guy disagrees on that one! ;-) He likes the clarity of one plus one equals two. I vastly prefer the flexibility of words and the magic that they can weave.

This week has been “attack the mound of laundry” week at our house. My goodness, I hope I never get this behind again. ;-)

I’ve always been impressed by your ironing stamina! hehe I just plain don’t iron! The last time I ironed was maybe 4 years ago! Oh, my oldest son is 4… coincidence? We just throw things in the dryer. Apparently our wrinkle standards are lower than others, though, because last week I took the boys to a wedding… we were in a HUGE rush, and I was happy that myself & my 3 boys were ready before everyone. My sister, still in her towel, says “Oh no!” and UNdresses Jake to iron his clothes! I just don’t have time or thought to *see* wrinkles! LOL
Anyways, you, my friend, are an amazing mom & person! I’ve been praying for you & your family- actually, your name is still on my prayer list from the 1st deployment!
Well, to answer the question– this week… I’m taking back control of the house- todays agenda: tackle the kids toys & finish planning a bridal shower. Next week, laundry.
*hug*
