You know how sometimes bloggers write *crickets* to indicate that nobody is responding to what they’re saying? I think we need to start something new. I think we need to start saying only TEARS when something – LIKE THIS POST and the reality that it represents – leaves us with no words and just tears. So…
Ashleigh, you and your family have been very much in my thoughts in recent weeks, and please know I will be praying for all of you while he is away. One day at a time.
From one military wife to another ~ I send you my sincerest appreciation for your family’s service and sacrifice. I will be praying for you, your hubby, and your whole family…until I read a blog post entitled….”And He’s Home…again…”.
Yipes, that stirs up some sad memories of my own. Once the weirdness, like you’re missing a limb, feeling subsides, it’ll be okay. Well, it’s never okay…. Many prayers headed your way.
You are so blessed to share such a powerful love for each other. Praying that the Lord will hold you today and everyday until your love comes home. Praying for peace protection to surround you and the boys and legions of angels to protect John and his men and to bring them all home safely.
I’ve never commented before, but read your blog often and much appreciate your openness and reflections. And tonight, I am compelled to send you my thoughts, prayers, and enormous gratitude. I will be praying for you, your family, and all those who serve our country.
I know all too well those goodbyes…You and your family will be in my prayers. From one military wife to another, thank you for being so brave and so supportive to your hero. I survive my trials knowing that other woman as you are living the same life I am. God bless you for your own hero uniform. =) I will keep your little ones close to heart and in my constant prayers, they too will be blessed. God Bless.
*hugs*
I made the mistake of reading all the comments before I wrote this… and now tears are streaming down my face. Goodbyes are never ever easy. Esp. with someone you love with all your heart and soul!
Praying for him, praying for you and the boys.
Hold them Lord ~ hold them. Please surround John with protection, Ashleigh with comfort and peace and the boys with all the Father’s love that you graciously give. Thank you for each of them and for their sacrifices. May this time apart seem as but a day. Thank you, Jesus.
I don’t comment often, and one day I’d love to meet you – but I so appreciate your transparent authenticity as you share your journey. I’ve been following here off and on for a few years (since you found me on YLCF), and I am blessed to watch from afar how you carry your heart before the Lord and before others. As a wife and mother of three, I can’t fathom how painful this is for you right now, but I can only imagine how beautiful a work the Lord must be doing in your heart through it all. You are a bright and shining lamp in the darkness, Ashleigh, and your life is bringing glory to Jesus as you worship Him in the suffering.
Godspeed to your beloved one. I pray that he may go with the Spirit of God resting upon him, and that he may return quickly and safely to your arms. May this year go by swiftly and strengthen your heart as you lean on your eternal Husband, Jesus Christ. Praying for your family, dear sister in the Lord,
Oh, Ashleigh. I’m so sorry that you’re going through this. Praying for your family and praying for your faithful, amazing soldier. You guys can’t hold hands right now, but you know exactly who’s holding both of yours in the meantime.
When this post popped into my inbox, I knew what the words meant, but when I opened the email and saw the picture … I caught a tiny glimpse of what the words MEAN for YOU. I want you to know I’m praying for you and your husband and your little boys. *Hug!*
You’re still being lifted up in prayer.
Good morning, I’ll be praying for you today, for peace and calm and quiet hearts in your home. And for safety and strength for John and the others. And some more strenght for you, and more someones sent from the Someone.
I loved your letter. I was so moved by it that felt it needed to be put to music and shared. I hope that you approve. If you do not, I will remove it at your request.
Oh Ashleigh… I’m so sorry. Praying for you all.
